Our Commitment
Our Commitment to the Culture
The BLK Coin Collective (BCC) was created to provide an online central location/hub for members of the community to locate, engage with, and support Black-owned businesses. We are committed to making Black-owned businesses more visible and accessible. We are also committed to making business creation and maintenance more viable to the future generation of Black business owners.
Our Founders
Robert and Jessika Shields founded the BLK Coin Collective (BCC) in an effort to provide a solution to the problem of finding and supporting Black-owned businesses. They noticed that there was a lack of visibility for products and services offered by individuals in the Black community. Robert and Jessika noticed that many Black supported online forums were being used to advertise and locate products and services from Black-owned businesses through social media posts and shares. However, searching in multiple forums and across the internet for specific opportunities to shop Black became very difficult and time-consuming. They understood the importance of shopping Black and wanted to create an online hub that would make it easier for consumers to find what they need while supporting the culture. Robert and Jessika believe that circulating the Black dollar longer in the Black community will make a positive impact for generations to come.
