The Bright Stars Literacy Connection is an organization whose mission is to promote literacy awareness among school-age children, parents, and families by conducting engaging, fun, and educational literacy experiences in group settings for parents, schools, clubs, teams, day camps, and all other organizations that serve the youth. These customized literacy services can be held at homes, school sites, parks, community centers, churches, or other venues in the Inland Empire.
Our unique services include:
1) Read-Aloud Sessions – Recommended For Grades K- 3
2) Book Club Discussion Groups – Recommended For Grades 4-8
3. Family Literacy Events – Recommended For All Family Members
4. Parent Workshop: “Reading: The Key To Your Child’s Success” – Recommended For K-3 Parents and Guardians
Terri Norwood, who calls herself The Literacy Lady, is the Founder and Director of the Bright Stars Literacy Connection. She is a recently retired, but not tired, 28-year public school elementary educator who possess an undying passion for literacy. She was the Founder and Director of the Bright Stars Reading Club, a 501(c)(3) non -profit organization located in Inglewood, CA whose mission was to help 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders develop and maintain a love and interest for reading in a fun and informal setting on Saturday mornings. Terri purposely and positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children and their families during its 11- year reign.
